GISB Facts
School:
An independent, non-profit, educational institution located in Boston, MA. Offering an innovative, bilingual program in German and English as one of the five such accredited schools in the US. One of three international schools in the greater Boston area.
Mission:
The GISB provides a learning environment that allows every student to feel secure and eager to strive for his or her personal excellence.
History & Future:
Inaugurated in Nov 2001 by the former German President Johannes Rau.
Aiming to expand the capacity of the school progressively, with the ultimate goal of graduating students with the German International Abitur (exams in German and English, similar to the IB) as well as the Massachusetts High School Diploma.
Curriculum:
Our program combines German curriculum (Thühringer Lehrplan) with international and local American elements of Massachusetts so that our students will have the choice eventually to study at European or American universities.
Students:

✔ 150 students enrolled from Preschool through Grade 10 - The school will progressively extend it program to higher grades eventually offering a complete program from Preschool to Grade 12.

Accreditation:
By the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and by the German government agency overseeing and financially supporting GISB and more than 130 further schools worldwide (Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen).
